About the Role

This position is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory tests, confirming the accuracy of test results, and reporting laboratory findings to doctors, pathologists, or other physicians. You may work in any of the major areas of the laboratory: Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry, and Fibrinolysis. This role involves operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, utilizing the laboratory computer system, adhering to established policies and procedures, and working under the supervision of a general supervisor while functioning independently. Direct supervision is not required for specimen processing, test performance, or result reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of laboratory tests across various departments (e.g., Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology).
  • Confirm the accuracy of test results and report findings to physicians.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and computer systems.
  • Maintain strict adherence to established policies, procedures, and quality assurance standards, including documentation.
  • Prioritize and organize workload to handle complex assignments efficiently.
  • Demonstrate strong judgment and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical or Biological Science (Required).
  • 1–2 years of clinical experience in a related field (Preferred).
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) certification or American Medical Technologists (AMT) certification (Required).
