About the role

This position is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory tests, confirming the accuracy of test results, and reporting laboratory findings to the doctors, pathologists, or other physicians. This position may work in any of the major areas of the laboratory: Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry and Fibrinolysis. This position operates and maintains a variety of laboratory instruments, utilizes laboratory computer systems in performance of duties, maintains strict adherence to established policies and procedures, and works under the supervision of a general supervisor, but works independently.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and organize workload

• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments
• Utilize laboratory computer systems
• Maintain strict adherence to established policies and procedures
• Work independently, without direct supervision for specimen processing, test performance, or result reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, Chemical or Biological Science
• One to two years experience in a related field (preferred)
• ASCP certification or AMT certification required

Pay

• $10,000 sign-on bonus

Schedule

• Full-time (80 hours bi-weekly)
• Evening shift rotating
• Weekend and holiday commitments
• No on-call commitment
