Essential Functions
- Receive patients: update medical history and conduct patient intake and discharge according to policy and procedure to ensure the best health outcome for our patients and their families
- Prepare patient for examination and assist provider with exam and procedure as needed
- Make follow-up appointment along with giving patient co-pay information for next visit, collect all forms accompanying patient, and verify patient demographics
- Conduct patient intake and discharge according to policy and procedure to ensure the best health outcome for our patients and their families
- Additional job duties:
- Administers injections as ordered by the provider and obtain and process specimens for transport to the lab
- Conduct patient tracking, and recall regarding abnormal tests
- Assist provider with complex dressing changes and perform simple wound care and dressing changes
- Administer nebulizer treatments as ordered
- Clean and decontaminate and set up the exam rooms
- Administer peak flow meter test for respiratory assessment
- Cleanse and decontaminate re-usable equipment for autoclave sterilization
- Assist with medical emergencies as instructed (e.g. CPR, First aid)
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistant
- Valid registration as a Registered Medical Assistant in the State of Missouri
- Current CPR Certification
- Experience: 1-2 yrs of experience working in a Community Health Center/or Physician’s Office setting
Additional Information
- Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
