Job Summary

The Neurodiagnostic Technician performs routine and complex diagnostic testing in the laboratory and in critical care areas in accordance with hospital policies and national standards. The EEG Tech calibrates and sets measuring parameters and reports findings to the physician for analysis and interpretation.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate with some post-secondary or college education in a science or health related area.
  • ABRET EEG registry required (R.EEG T.).
  • At least 2 years’ experience in EEG required.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider.

What You Will Do In This Role

You will review the patient's medical record and assess the patient to determine their physical and emotional needs. You will communicate information about the test and explain the testing procedure to the patient and/or family. You will identify and correct for artifacts before forwarding results to the attending physician. You will assist in maintaining EEG equipment and supplies.
