Registered Dietitian (RD)

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Clinical Dietitian (RD) to lead nutritional care in a rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor residents' nutritional status, develop care plans, and provide recommendations to medical staff.
• Evaluate residents' needs related to nutrition support, skin integrity, and weight management.
• Coordinate procurement of nutrition supplies and oral supplements with vendors and departments.
• Oversee meal service to ensure adherence to diet modifications and educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition concepts.
• Review and update dietary care plans for effectiveness and compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and Speech-Language Pathologists to provide appropriate diets for residents with dysphagia.
• Ensure menu changes follow policies and guidelines, update diet orders in software daily, and supervise dietary staff.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure quality nutrition care and regulatory compliance, including weight monitoring protocols.
• Maintain clear communication with team members to deliver high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian credential.
• Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal nutrition guidelines.
• Proficiency with EMR and computer-based menu systems.
