About the role
A Registered Dietitian (RD) to provide expert nutritional care in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting.
Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor residents' nutritional status, develop care plans, and provide recommendations to medical staff.
- Evaluate residents' specific needs related to nutrition support, skin health, and weight management.
- Coordinate procurement of nutrition supplies and supplements with vendors and departments.
- Monitor meal service adherence to diet modifications and ensure menu compliance with regulations.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on nutrition concepts and diet modifications.
- Review and update dietary care plans and conduct routine audits to ensure quality care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists, to provide appropriate diets for residents with dysphagia.
- Supervise dietary staff and ensure facility compliance with weight monitoring and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of diet orders and menu changes using computer software.
Requirements
- Registered Dietitian certification.
- Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and computer-based menu software.
