About the role
The Registered Dietitian (RD) - PACE Site at AltaMed is a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) with both clinical nutrition and food service management roles. The RD conducts nutrition assessments and follows-up as needed to assess participants' nutritional status and provides appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT).
Responsibilities
- Conducts nutrition assessments and follow-ups to assess participants' nutritional status and provides appropriate medical nutrition therapy (MNT).
- Supports Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) compliance by planning menus to meet requirements, conducting quarterly CACFP food service audits, and maintaining required CACFP documentation.
- Supports meal service by planning therapeutic menus, maintaining diet records, coordinating diet changes with the Food Preparation Coordinator, and conducting regular kitchen audits.
- Conducts in-services as needed for the kitchen staff and/or IDT members to ensure accurate and evidence-based nutrition care practices.
Requirements
- Active Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) status with the Commission on Dietetics Registration required.
- California Food Handler or Food Protection Manager Certification from an ANSI-accredited training provider meeting ASTM International E2659-09 Standard Practice for Certificate Programs. Required within 90 days of hire, required.
- Minimum of 1 year professional work experience in clinical nutrition as an RD/RDN preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with the frail elderly, preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on demographics of PACE site, preferred.
- A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in dietetics.
Skills

- Knowledge of nutrition science and its application to clinical practice.

Pay
$83,200.00 - $104,000.00 annually
