About the Role
This position involves assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing and implementing Medical Nutrition Therapy, and providing nutrition consultations to physicians. The role includes evaluating lab results, diet histories, and medication impacts to create tailored care plans, monitor progress, and adjust interventions accordingly. Emphasis is placed on effective communication, time management, and applying evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate lab results, diet histories, and medication impacts to develop individualized care plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust nutrition interventions as needed
- Educate patients and families on dietary modifications
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated care
- Ensure quality standards in food service and menu conformance
- Participate in quality improvement activities
- Review menus and provide current nutritional information to staff and patients
Requirements
- Minimum six months of clinical dietitian experience or successful dietetic internship
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
- Dietitian license (Oregon), Registered Dietitian certification, and NPI
- Strong knowledge of clinical nutrition, disease management, and standards of practice
- Effective communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Ability to evaluate and modify nutrition education materials and treatment plans
Preferred Qualifications
- Over one year of clinical dietetics experience
- Healthcare foodservice and nutrition operations knowledge
- Understanding of healthcare standards, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and pediatric nutrition
