Registered Dietitian

This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid-point hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.

About the Role

Under limited supervision, performs professional public health services of moderate difficulty in planning, organizing, and implementing public health programs; this position has Program Specific responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Conducts nutrition and breastfeeding assessments for High Risk participants and provides evidence-based counseling and specialized formula authorization.
• Maintains reports, may create presentations and training materials.
• Collaborates with Health Care Providers, as needed, to ensure proper food benefits are issued.
• Assists with documenting nutrition/breastfeeding assessments, care plans, and follow-ups in the database.
• May coordinate and/or facilitate nutrition education and training for new and existing program staff.
• May coordinate and shall participate in outreach activities.
• Assists with observation of staff for compliance utilizing state WIC-provided observation forms.
• Maintains high standards of confidentiality and program integrity.
• May supervise assigned staff in the absence of a direct supervisor.
• Maintains registration and required licensing credentials by completing continuing education units.
• Works as assigned on a rotation basis in permanent and satellite WIC Clinics within Yuma County WIC's geographical area.
• Travels to community sites, facilities, and institutions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Regular and reliable attendance is required.
