About the Role
The Registered Dietitian provides nutritional support to in-center and home dialysis patients and families to optimize nutrition and improve outcomes. Ensures patient privacy, dignity, and safety, and demonstrates knowledge of dialysis care and the skills necessary to manage dialysis patients' nutritional needs.
Requirements
- Registered by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on the Commission of Dietetics Registry.
- Current state licensure (if required by the state).
- Meets all applicable state/licensing requirements.
- Minimum of 1-year professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian (after becoming a registered dietitian). If state regulations permit, the 1 year of experience requirement may be waived if work is supervised by a qualified dietitian until 1 year of clinical experience has been obtained. Dietitians without 1 year of experience would not be qualified to complete patient assessments, develop plans of care, or take responsibility for the QAPI program.
- ESRD nutrition experience preferred.
- Maintains registration and continuing education as required by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics membership preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret safety, operating, and procedure documents.
- Effective communication skills with clients and staff.
