Registered Dietitian

About the role

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our Healthcare team in Cortlandt Manor. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals' nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interact with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participate in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

Requirements

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field (nice-to-have).
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care (nice-to-have).

Pay

$65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
