Registered Dietitian

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s nutritional needs
• Assist and advise in the evaluation, interpretation, and implementation of governmental, professional, licensing, and accreditation standards or requirements
• Attends discharge planning rounds
• Confers with physicians and nursing regarding diet therapy
• Periodic Nutritional Care Committee meetings
• Attends cardiac rehab meetings
• Completes necessary studies
• Continues with ongoing quality assurance studies
• Instructs patients and caregivers on accurate nutritional information using age- and education-appropriate material
• Participates in development of policy and procedures which affect nutritional care
• Plans medical nutritional therapeutic diets for patients as indicated or oversees the planning by the Nutritional Services Manager
• Schedules and participates in nutritional services for hospital staff as requested or sees fit
• Schedules and participates in nutritional services for hospital staff as requested or sees fit
• Selects and approves appropriate diet manuals on an annual basis
• Supervises the work of the food service department to ensure proper record keeping, adherence to medical and nursing orders, and adherence to acceptable dietetic practices

Requirements

• B.S. in Dietetics and Nutrition
• One+ year Dietetic Intern or one+ year as a Registered Dietitian
• Registered Dietitian / Certified Dietitian (VT)
• Current Vermont licensure in good standing with no restrictions or stipulations

Pay

$27-31.50/hour. The posted salary range reflects compensation for candidates with limited experience. An offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, internal equity, and market data. An offer of employment may be outside of the posted range based on those factors.
