Registered Dietician
About the role
The Registered (Pediatric) Dietitian monitors and supports the health of children and teens with autism spectrum disorders. Working with a multidisciplinary team—including a Behavior Analyst, direct care staff, family members, and other caregivers—the Dietitian plans menus that incorporate balanced diets, creates and implements feeding interventions to support healthy nourishment, and counsels children and families on healthful eating and basic nutrition.
Services are provided to individuals impacted by behavioral health issues (addiction, substance use, and mental health), with recognition that many have experienced trauma affecting their development. The Dietitian demonstrates a warm, empathic, and hopeful attitude, embracing a philosophy of dual recovery. Trained in trauma-informed care, the Dietitian ensures services are delivered in a sensitive, responsive environment to prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma.
The Registered (Pediatric) Dietitian reports to the Behavior Analyst in charge of the feeding clinic program.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nutrition assessments.
- Design nutrition interventions.
- Serve as nutrition team coordinator.
- Provide nutritional therapy.
- Deliver parent training as directed by the Clinical Director.
- Complete billing forms and documentation as required.
- Provide services in both clinical and home settings.
- Perform all duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Work in a normal direct care environment with typical physical demands, including prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Require a normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to assist students in day-to-day routines.
- TB test required upon hire.
