Registered Dietician

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and committed Registered Dietitian to provide services to skilled nursing centers in the area. The ideal candidate will complete assessments, nutrition intervention, monitoring, and evaluation utilizing the nutrition care process and evidence-based care guidelines. You will round with nursing to make recommendations for nutrition care, formulate menus for therapeutic diets, instruct patients and families in nutritional principles, conduct test tray audits, and maintain high patient satisfaction ratings. This role involves survey management and site visits to facilities in the area to complete Clinical Nutrition Assessments as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutritional assessments for new admits, significant weight changes, pressure injuries, dialysis, and calculate TPN and enteral nutrition for residents in long-term care.
• Provide dietary services following state and federal laws and regulations, corporate guidelines, and Crandall Systems.
• Deliver nutrition education and in-service training for staff development and regulatory compliance.
• Implement the plan of corrections and help prepare the community for state surveys.
• Perform clinical charting (if required by states or corporations), including weights, new admits, and high-risk charting.
• Round with nursing to make nutrition care recommendations.
• Formulate menus for therapeutic diets based on medical and physical conditions of patients and integrate them with basic institutional menus.
• Instruct patients and families in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, and preparation.
• Conduct test tray audits of patient meals to assess quality.
• Document patient rounds and maintain high patient satisfaction ratings.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered Dietitian with a Bachelor’s Degree; a combination of experience in skilled nursing, acute care, or related fields will be considered.
• Food handler permit required.
• Must maintain current licensure as required by law.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or other related medical facility.
• Any combination of experience and training that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel locally.
• Ability to keep sensitive information/data confidential under HIPAA guidelines.
• State license as required by State law.
• COVID-19 vaccination or medical/religious exemption per state/corporate guidelines.
• Current TB test.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong but friendly communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
• Knowledge of basic computer programs.
• Knowledge of long-term care and food service regulations.
