Registered Dental Assistant - East Bakersfield Dental Center

Job Summary

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to join our team. This position requires proficiency in four-handed dentistry and strong chairside assisting skills. The ideal candidate will have two years of experience, a California license for Registered Dental Assistant and sealant certificate, and preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.

Essential Functions

• Draping and seating the patient in the dental chair
• Placing proper tray setup and developing room preparation
• Confirming all treatment is recorded in the chart and indicating necessary information on route slips
• Operating dental radiography equipment
• Applying topical agents and removing dressings
• Assisting the dentist in all aspects of chairside assisting
• Filling in as Dental Receptionist to answer telephone calls, route and assist incoming patients, and perform other tasks as designated
• Following infection control policies and sterilization protocols

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience preferred
• California license for Registered Dental Assistant and sealant certificate
• Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish
• Willingness to participate in expanded duty program as such program becomes operational
• Desire to work closely with patients and staff
• Graduation from high school
• State Radiological Certification
• Adherence to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or valid exemption request for subsequent approval
