About the role
As a Registered Dental Assistant, you will support the clinical needs of our patients and dentists. Duties include assisting in patient care, maintaining inventory, adhering to safety protocols, and performing lab procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist in patient care, including chairside duties.
- Maintain inventory control in the operatories.
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CDC guidelines.
- Handle patient interactions, including scheduling, follow-up treatment, and record keeping.
- Perform lab procedures such as taking impressions, pouring models, and preparing cases for external labs.
- Perform basic lab tasks like removing excess cement, placing and removing rubber dams, and fabricating temporary crowns and bridges.
- Maintain public areas and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- Easily able to learn new technologies and systems.
- NJ Dental Radiologic Technologist (DRT) license or willingness to pursue licensure immediately.
- Certified Dental Assistant certificate preferred.
- Registered Dental Assistant License preferred.
- 1+ years work experience as a Dental Assistant preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Some flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends.
- X-ray License required.
- Current NJ Registered Dental Assistant license.
- Active CPR Certification is required.
- Knowledge of dental instruments and patient care.
- Clear communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, follow-up, analytical, and time management skills.
