Registered Dental Assistant

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work in a pediatric, child-friendly environment.
• Review all hygiene patient charts including; reason and necessity of visit, medical history, and x-ray requirement.
• Verify patient information with parent or guardian, according to HIPAA privacy standards.
• Have coronal polishing certification - We are able to provide a sealant course!
• Verify the patient has consent for treatment from parent or guardian.
• Advise parent or guardian what to expect in the visit and address any concerns.
• Chart all existing/missing teeth, existing restorations, and/or dental procedures.
• Obtain all x-rays necessary in the best quality possible.
• Maintain accurate clinical notes of each visit.
• Clean and sterilize all instruments following OSHA and company standards.
• This includes; scrubbing instruments, packing the instruments and processing them through the statim or autoclave sterilizer.
• Maintain Dental Assisting License in good standing and complete the CE Credits required by state.

Qualifications

• Current State of TN RDA License.
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Polishing and Radiology Certification.
