Responsibilities

• Administer high-frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical purposes at the request of, and for interpretation by, a licensed independent practitioner.
• Demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Produce, use, recognize, and analyze ultrasound images and patterns for patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Exercise independent professional and ethical judgment in recognizing patient conditions essential for successful procedure completion.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited course in Cardiovascular Sonography.
• CPR/BLS - Basic Life Support certification.
• Registered through ARDMS, CCI, or other comparable society.
• Three (3) years of experience in sonography in an acute care facility.

Skills

• Understanding of cardiac/vascular anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer skills.

Pay

$35.02–$59.75 per hour
