Registered Cardiac Sonographer

About the role

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.
• Provide patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and pathology.
• Provide patient care to all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Communicate effectively with staff and radiologists.

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of a registry‑approved ultrasound program, a CAAHEP‑accredited Cardiac Sonographer program, or equivalent experience per Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) standards.

Experience

No minimum experience required.

Licensure & Certification

• Current registered or registry‑eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) holding RDCS certification, or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) holding RCS certification.
• Must obtain appropriate credential within twelve months of hire date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification per American Heart Association guidelines required.
