About the role

Step Ahead ABA provides in‑home ABA therapy for autistic children and their families in Oklahoma City. A BCBA is already assigned to this case and covers the region. The organization supports families on Medicaid, assigns a dedicated care manager, and builds schedules around each family’s real week. Placement matches RBTs to cases based on clinical need and schedule fit, with transparent communication about location and expectations before you commit. The RBTs who thrive are passionate about their kiddos, read the plan before each session, communicate concerns to the BCBA promptly, treat the family’s home with respect, show up consistently, and see each child as a gem.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver 97153 direct therapy services according to the client’s treatment and behavior intervention plan.
  • Collect session data and submit notes for the work performed.
  • Follow the plan developed by the assigned BCBA and report any concerns promptly.
  • Maintain active engagement with the child and family during sessions.

Requirements

  • Active RBT registration with the BACB (current on start date).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior ABA experience.
  • Availability Monday–Friday afternoons and evenings.
  • Comfort working in a family’s home.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stay active and engaged throughout sessions.

Skills

  • Passion for working with children with autism.
  • Reads and understands the treatment plan before each session.
  • Communicates proactively with the BCBA when something looks off.
  • Treats the family’s home with respect and consistency.
  • Shows up reliably and treats each child as a valued individual.

Pay

  • $23 per hour for billable direct therapy.
  • $10 per hour for paid non‑billable time (training, required meetings, etc.).

Schedule

Monday–Friday afternoons and evenings; exact days, times, and Oklahoma City neighborhood will be discussed at interview before any commitment.
