Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
About the role
At The Place for Children with Autism, we're more than a therapy center. We're a team on a mission to help children with autism thrive. As a Behavior Therapist, you'll help children with autism develop new skills, celebrate milestones, and reach their full potential – all while jumpstarting your own career in behavioral health.
Responsibilities
- Work 1:1 with children between the ages of 2-8 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them learn communication, social, and daily-living skills.
- Implement individualized therapy programs designed by our Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), collect data, and participate in team discussions around progress and strategy.
- Bring energy, creativity, and passion – using play, movement, and laughter to engage children while promoting skill-building and growth.
- Partner with clients and their families in celebrating wins, problem-solving challenges, and promoting each child’s growth.
Requirements
- Energetic team players who show up ready to engage and move with children throughout their sessions – this includes bending, squatting, lifting up to 30 pounds, and keeping pace with energetic young learners during play and activities.
- A collaborator ready to take on multiple tasks and decisions at once – whether it’s guiding a child, taking notes, or communicating with parents or clinical staff.
- Positive role models with a commitment to safety by keeping the therapy environment organized, safe, and welcoming so every child can explore and learn comfortably.
- Driven optimists who arrive to work on-time each day and are ready to learn, take feedback, and bring a can-do attitude to their teams and the families they serve.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old and hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
