Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT)
Provide 1-on-1 direct care to children with autism at the client's home.
Teach daily living and social skills using evidence-based treatments and positive reinforcement.
Establish a relationship with the client to assess interests and motivators to effectively implement the behavior plan.
Directly implementing skill acquisition and behavior intervention plans written by a supervising BCBAC.
Collecting accurate data for all treatment plans and behavior programs, which is then provided to the BCBA for analysis.
Serves in a direct care role, consulting the BCBA regularly for additional support, training, and supervision.
Adjusts interventions and/or intervention methods as instructed by the supervising BCBA when necessary.
Maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of each intervention and plan in place for each client on his/her caseload and those on assigned team.
Maintains RBT credentials by completing the RBT Competency Assessment annually as per BACB guidelines.
Ensures continuous adherence to the BACB Ethical Standards for RBT.
Collaborates and participates in clinical team meetings and ongoing training.
Ensures all Sessions are accurately documented, signed and submitted for timely billing.
Skills and Qualifications
- Registered Behavior Technician Certificate with the BACB
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including prolonged periods of walking, running, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and stooping
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills for speaking with clients’ families and writing session notes
- Confident interpersonal skills for interactions with the clients’ families
- Must have drivers license/access to transportation
- Must be a motivated team player, and exercise patience/professionalism
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Verifiable work references and pass a background check
- Minimum of 6 months experience utilizing ABA therapy, working with individuals with autism in a supervised setting
