About the role
Open Sky supports adults with developmental and intellectual challenges through residential programs designed to foster safety, nurturing, and personal growth. The Behavior Technician plays a crucial role in implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans and delivering interventions to enhance communication, social, and daily living skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans under the supervision of the BCBA.
- Deliver direct one-on-one behavioral interventions to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Aid in the completion of all documentation according to prescribed timelines.
- Provide crisis management and intervention supports to programs.
- Offer clinical advocacy and guidance to staff.
- Coach staff to provide one-on-one direct supports to assist individuals in achieving success in their daily living skills.
- Provide direct supports to help individuals develop regulation strategies, coping skills, and daily living skills.
- Carry out clinical assessments and collaborate effectively with program and clinical teams.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, required.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities in a group living environment setting.
- Must be a Registered Behavior Technician or willing to obtain certification within the first 3 months of employment.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history, required.
