About the Role

The Regional VP Retail will understand and integrate the retail needs in a productive manner, contributing to Loro Piana Americas as a brand ambassador, steward, and leader for their teams. This dynamic and strategic role focuses on creatively building the business while motivating sales executives and store staff. The ideal candidate embodies the essence of Loro Piana as a compelling fashion authority, spending most of their time in the market rather than the office.

The role requires a field general with a strong grasp of distribution strategy to present a unified Loro Piana presence directly to the consumer. The Regional VP Retail must balance day-to-day business management with long-term strategic initiatives, demonstrating an innate passion for the brand and a focus on business results. This position demands inspirational and motivational leadership alongside financially astute P&L management, with the ability to form strong cross-functional relationships across all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Management
    • Stay informed on the luxury market and competitors, sharing insights with store teams to maximize opportunities.
    • Partner with store management to maintain Loro Piana’s impeccable brand image in client management and development.
    • Share annual and monthly business objectives with store management, ensuring follow-up and implementing sales plans to increase revenue.
    • Foster synergy among stores to best serve clients (e.g., sharing clients, team selling).
    • Monitor store performance through KPI analysis, creating action plans to improve performance on a store-by-store basis.
    • Define and implement succession planning across the region in collaboration with store management and HR, using individual development plans to set clear expectations and achieve measurable results.
  • Strategic Business Planning
    • Partner with the VP Retail on budgeting and adjust plans to address unforeseen opportunities while maintaining regional profitability.
    • Lead market research activities, providing timely feedback and insights to HQ about market trends, competitors, customer behaviors, product, and pricing to improve regional performance.
    • Analyze the market and monitor real estate developments, building a network in the luxury sector to plan for market shifts and new opportunities.
    • Identify and evaluate potential future store locations.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Increase the number of loyal "best" customers by systematically monitoring and analyzing customer profiles (spending habits, purchase frequency, product categories) and proposing targeted activities to boost loyalty.
    • Educate teams on the nuances of individual South markets and strategize location-specific activities and opportunities.
    • Propose in-store activities and events aligned with the Loro Piana brand image, coordinating with HQ functions to serve local clients effectively.
    • Empower store management to partner with local organizations to leverage resources, build customer databases, and enhance loyalty.
    • Build and oversee relationships with existing and prospective VICs (Very Important Clients), setting the standard for clienteling excellence while coaching store teams to develop, maintain, and grow these relationships consistently and scalably.
  • Retail Merchandising & Visual Merchandising Partnership & Oversight
    • Partner with Regional Retail Merchandising and Visual Merchandising teams to align commercial objectives, brand standards, and market execution.
    • Provide market insight, qualitative feedback, and commercial perspective to inform assortment decisions, floor sets, and visual storytelling.
    • Monitor commercial outcomes related to merchandising and visual execution (e.g., sell-through, space productivity) and escalate insights, risks, or opportunities to Regional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree, or an appropriate mix of education and work experience.
  • Previous experience in a multi-unit store environment within a luxury brand.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive, with the ability to work independently to achieve results.
  • Agility to work within a structured environment while implementing creative, "out-of-the-box" strategies to build the business.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of building and leading teams to achieve sales and customer service goals.
  • Strong business acumen and a personal drive to develop leadership and sales organizations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of retail store operations, including open-to-buy, stock management, loss prevention, sales, assortment planning, and expense control.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the luxury industry.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel 70-80% of the time.
