About the Role

Serves as a member of the System Senior Executive Team providing strategic thought leadership and direction for the Quality and Patient Safety, Infection Control, Clinical & Non-Clinical Risk, Accreditation, Colleague Safety, and Patient Experience programs across the acute care and ambulatory environment. Leads the enabling strategies to assure regulatory compliance, risk management, data analytics, and clinical informatics necessary to fulfill and sustain the mission and vision. Works with the Chief Nursing Officers to lead the System Clinical Quality Council and manages key services, staff, and operational areas of the health system.

Serves as staff to the Board of Directors, Quality Committees, and to System Board Committees. Liaison to Trinity Health System by serving on various councils and task forces. Represents the organization to state and local business, service, and healthcare communities. Responsible for the entire quality and patient safety efforts, including oversight of Risk Management, infection control, and Quality, Patient Experience, Colleague Safety, and Patient Safety departments. Serves as the designated Management Representative for fulfillment of all regulatory requirements of JCAHO, DNV, Medicare, and State Health and Welfare. Acts as the Patient Safety Officer to improve and enhance all patient safety efforts and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the organization’s Mission, Vision, and values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Meets medical center’s Customer Services Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.
  • Serves as a member of the Senior Management Team in formalizing, implementing, and communicating system, hospital, and medical group quality and patient safety programs.
  • Develops consistent strategies for system quality and a focused approach to improving quality and value for the system’s strategic 5-year plan.
  • Works with hospital and medical directors/leaders to assure consistency and achieve long-term quality objectives.
  • Develops the 5-year quality, patient safety, risk management, infection control, patient experience, and colleague safety strategic plan, as well as the annual operations plan; monitors and directs system, hospital, and medical group performance to these plans.
  • Leads key service, operational, and staff areas as assigned by the CEO, including stewardship of human, financial, and material resources; quality and efficient services; and alignment of services to the strategic plan.
  • Implements Trinity programs and directives.
  • Liaison and staff to the Medical Staff and Medical Staff Committees.
  • Provides strategic support to the Accountable Health Network President and the President to assure development of value-driven healthcare across a broad continuum and durable, sustainable relationships.
  • Participates in various committees and structures including Alliance committees, payer and employer negotiating teams, President’s council, strategy council, SLT, Genesis Oversight, and Corporate Compliance as needed.
  • Ensures coordination of a broad definition of quality, safety, risk management, and patient experience across the organization.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business administration or a specific field or discipline.
  • 5 years of relevant administrative experience (Health or Business) at a Senior Management level or in positions that supported Senior Management and strategic direction with Board and Medical Staff interactions.
  • Demonstrated team, performance analysis, presentation, interpersonal, facilitation, planning, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPHQ (Quality) certification
  • Lean, Agile, or other Project Management certification
  • CPPS (Certified Provider in Patient Safety)

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work priorities and balance the requirements of working with the System Office and Regional Health Ministries (RHMs).
  • Must be able to travel to various Trinity Health sites as needed.

Pay

Salary Range: $170,040 - $255,112

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
