Regional Service Manager - North
About the role
The Regional Service Manager - North is responsible for managing the service and maintenance operations in the North region of Airgas. The position requires a minimum of five years of related working experience and a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Maintains a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
- Aids in establishing, publishing, and performing training of preventative maintenance procedures for equipment.
- Aids in establishing, publishing, and performing training of cost-effective repair and service procedures.
- Aids in establishing, publishing, and performing training of safe and efficient shipping and receiving procedures for all equipment.
- Works with Safety Managers to perform shop-related safety training at branches.
- Works with Branch Managers in our branches to establish new "best practices" in our shops and ensure they are shared with the Director of Service and other RSMs so that they can be implemented company wide.
- Works closely with Regional Parts Coordinator to research parts and maintain accurate parts inventories.
- Performs an audit of the service and repair state at each branch at least once a year within the area of responsibility.
- Provides advanced technical support for branches and customers.
- Collaborates with R&D Manager on new product development.
- Participates in the startup or relocation of branches with regards to layout and tooling.
- Maintains compliance with SOX requirements and governmental regulatory requirements.
- Implements all operational directives.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver License.
- Five or more years of related working experience.
- Bachelor Degree in related field or Post-secondary education equivalent to one year of Business Management preferred.
- Computer experience or basic knowledge of SAP.
- Training certificates by OEM equipment providers (Miller, Lincoln, Hypertherm, MQ, etc.) preferred.
Qualifications

- Preferred: Bachelor Degree in related field or Post-secondary education equivalent to one year of Business Management.
- Computer experience or basic knowledge of SAP.
- Training certificates by OEM equipment providers (Miller, Lincoln, Hypertherm, MQ, etc.) preferred.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures.
- Ability to train and mentor staff.
- Experience with SAP.
- Knowledge of OEM equipment providers' training programs.
