About the role
This position is incentive eligible. It involves assuming the role of Regional Security Director (RSD) for HCA Healthcare’s TriStar and North Carolina regions, overseeing physical security operations across all facilities and divisions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and convey the importance of physical security in ensuring patient, employee, physician, contractor, volunteer, and visitor safety.
- Assess and drive remediation of current facility risks, and outline risk and business drivers, operational processes, and security measures.
- Directly or indirectly manage HCA’s complex physical security program, including policy development, communication, awareness, and training.
- Implement security incident response plans and protocols, measure performance, and continuously improve the physical security program.
- Lead and develop facility/site, market, and division operations, physical security matters, life safety management, threat management, emergency preparedness, emergency response, guard force operation, Federal interagency and local law enforcement liaison, vendor management, first responder liaison, budget responsibilities, training, drills, and other activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engage governance and company leadership to set priorities, based on risk, resources, and business priorities.
- Support the execution of the plan by leading governance, budgeting, communications, and project portfolio planning and oversight.
- Forge partnerships with all security colleagues and external clients on security-related programs, including law enforcement agencies.
- Partner with Patient Safety, Regulatory and Accreditation, Employee Health and Safety, Clinical Services Group, Information Technology Group, and other relevant groups on security-related programs and projects.
- Lead Secure-by-design collaboration with Facility Design & Construction, assist and collaborate in all Use-Of-Force investigations, liaise with the broader IPS organization, and design, develop, and implement solid business and value measures/metrics.
- Manage physical security and security technology vendors and relationships, coordinate leadership decisions on technology selection and use, and coordinate leadership discussions on resources and investments in Physical Security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree – Required
- Master's degree – Preferred
- 7+ years of experience in a leadership role – Required
- 10+ years of experience in security, military, law enforcement, and/or security – Preferred
- Applicable Physical Security Certifications – Preferred
Qualifications
- Up to 50% travel throughout the TriStar and North Carolina region may be required.
