Core Objectives
- Achieves regional sales objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in assigned districts.
- Communicates job expectations; plans, monitors, appraises, and reviews job contributions; plans and reviews compensation actions; enforces policies and procedures.
- Prepares and completes action plans; implements production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolves problems; completes audits; identifies trends; determines regional sales system improvements; implements change.
- Forecasts requirements; prepares an annual budget; schedules expenditures; analyzes variances; initiates corrective actions.
- Creates a sales plan and quota for districts in support of national objectives.
- Counsel district sales representatives; builds and maintains rapport with key customers; identifies new customer opportunities.
- Identifies new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveys consumer needs and trends; tracks competitors.
- Publishes, tracks, and evaluates trade spending.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Marketing or Business or equivalent experience preferred, high school diploma / GED required.
- Successful track record in the sales and delivery of commercial electronic security solutions.
- Demonstrated project and people management skills and experience.
- Minimum 5+ years' sales or marketing management experience required.
- At least 5 years outside sales experience preferred.
- Proven track record in high sales quota attainment.
- Exhibited skills, characteristics, traits, and work habits that would greatly enhance the likelihood of success as a sales director.
- PC proficiency with working knowledge of various spreadsheet and presentation programs.
