Regional Sales Director
What You Can Expect
The Regional Sales Director (RSD) reports to the Territory General Manager and is responsible for driving sales performance, delivering strategic revenue growth, expanding market share, and developing teams across a defined geography.
This role fosters a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-focused selling, ensuring that business, sales, and account plans are executed effectively, while key metrics are consistently met and exceeded.
How You'll Create Impact
Strategic Sales Execution
- Build and lead regional execution plans that align with national and territory goals.
- Translate commercial strategy into actionable sales plans with clear performance goals, segment targets, and defined sales pipelines.
- Ensure all accounts have documented plans with prioritized targets and conversion tactics.
- Monitor sales funnel health, ensuring opportunity coverage supports revenue objectives.
- Partner cross-functionally with pricing, contracts, and business unit leaders to win and retain key business.
Sales Team Leadership
- Develop and coach Team Leads and field reps through regular ride-alongs, weekly check-ins, and structured development plans.
- Drive quota attainment and market expansion through performance management, clarity of roles, and efficient territory structuring.
- Lead regular pipeline reviews, team meetings, and coaching sessions with clear action tracking and follow-through.
- Recognize and reward high-impact behaviors that contribute to growth, service excellence, and team cohesion.
People Development
- Avoids and retains top sales talent using behavior-based evaluation and onboarding practices that drive capacity management and bench strength to meet sales objectives.
- Ensures each team member receives consistent training, development support, and performance feedback.
- Fosters and maintains a collaborative, engaged, and purpose-driven culture with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
- Oversees clinical coverage and continuity of service across accounts and team members.
Customer & Surgeon Engagement
Develop strategic relationships with high-value surgeons and key accounts. Identify and engage surgeon champions to support market education, product development, and influence. Gather customer insights to inform territory strategies, uncover new opportunities, and strengthen loyalty. Ensure teams deliver a differentiated customer experience through consultative selling and responsive service.

Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or another relevant field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of successful medical device sales experience with at least 3 years in sales leadership roles.
- Extensive orthopedic knowledge including Zimmer Biomet and competitive product portfolios.
- Experience leading distributed teams and driving growth in competitive markets.
Physical Requirements
- Travel Expectations: Up to 50% travel across the region for field coaching, account visits, and leadership meetings.
Expected Compensation Range
$180,000 - $220,000 base salary with 40% target bonus
