Role Overview

The Regional Safety Manager (RSM) is responsible for ensuring compliance with all OSHA regulations, leading defense against citations, and managing the training, injury protocols, and claims processes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducts periodic on-site safety inspections, analyzing work practices to determine safe and efficient methods of performing work.
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Defends against OSHA citations.
  • Supports local leadership in improving safety performance.
  • Oversees a Region’s delivery of training programs for managers, supervisors, and field employees when required and develops new training programs as needed.
  • Assists local office management in identifying potential safety issues affecting overall safety performance for an assigned operating unit or company.
  • Oversees a Region’s injury and claims management as needed, including developing injury/illness treatment protocols and OSHA recordkeeping management.
  • Supervises the Site Safety Coordinator(s) and Area Safety Manager(s), providing support to ensure safety compliance and effective execution of daily site operations.
  • Develops and implements regional safety strategies aligned with corporate safety goals and initiatives.
  • Provides mentorship and professional development to Area Safety Managers and Site Safety Coordinators, supporting continued growth.
  • Performs special projects and completes all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in the administration of safety and risk management programs or occupational safety and health programs supporting similar key responsibilities.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Occupation Safety and Health, or related degree, CHST, GSP, ASP, or CSP a plus.
  • Experience in high rise structural concrete construction preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction safety work rules contained in Supervisor Safety Manuals as well as OSHA Part 1910 and 1926 regulations.
  • Understanding of state Workers Compensation laws and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to travel and work on construction projects up to 60%.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
