Regional Partner Perishable - Western NY & PA / Eastern OH

About the Role

This position provides guidance, expertise, and training to Retail Partner Store Managers, perishable personnel, store team members, and Save A Lot regional field staff on all aspects of perishable operations. It requires an in-depth understanding of retail fresh meat and produce, including product knowledge, retail financial acumen with P&L experience, troubleshooting, ordering, cold chain management, quality assurance, food safety, sanitation, shrink control, merchandising, assortment, and COOL program compliance.

This role assists Retail Partners in perishable department performance analysis and partners in developing and executing plans to improve sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and training to store management and staff, including hands-on demonstration, on all aspects of fresh meat and produce operations.
• Focuses on meat cutting and merchandising training to maximize sales and profitability.
• Utilizes company training programs, including Meat Cutting and Produce Resource manuals, to assist Retail Partners in establishing best practices.
• Meets regularly with regional leadership to ensure action plans, company performance metrics, and Retail Partner expectations are met.
• Ensures compliance with all City, State, and Federal requirements.
• Assists Retail Partners in setting up meat and produce departments during remodels, Grand Openings, or on an as-needed basis in existing stores.
• Completes special projects as assigned and submits routine paperwork accurately and on time.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• Strong meat operations experience required, including hands-on experience in meat cutting.
• Knowledge of retail produce operations is preferred but not required.
• Ability to influence others without authority and collaborate to achieve results.
• Multi-unit management experience is a plus.
• Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively execute multiple priorities and tasks.
• Ability to complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
• Ability to work effectively under limited direct supervision.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 90% of the time, including overnights, weekends, and evenings, as needed.
• May use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday.
• Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required to complete job duties.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on feet for extended periods up to 10 hours.
