Regional OTR Class A Driver - Bayport MN or Menomonie WI

About the Role

This REGIONAL OTR opportunity will be based in Bayport, MN or Menomonie, WI. The driver will haul dedicated Andersen freight, delivering windows and doors to dealers and picking up raw materials to return to the Midwest. This position requires safe driving, delivery expertise, and top-notch customer service.

• Monday – Friday workdays, home every weekend
• Opportunity for weekend work (volunteer only, as business requires)
• Regional delivery routes with potential for overnights in certain markets (2-4 nights out per week)

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with all Federal DOT Regulations while driving company vehicles
• Practice safe and defensive driving, especially in tight or congested areas or during inclement weather
• Maintain proper record-keeping for driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other required documentation
• Adhere to all company policies (DOT and non-DOT)
• Represent Andersen with professionalism, including appearance and product knowledge
• Safely assist in loading and unloading products at customer locations, including occasional lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of windows and doors (with equipment provided for items over 100 lbs)
• Answer customer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content; direct customers to appropriate contacts when needed

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License; doubles endorsement required if twin trailers are pulled
• Acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
• 2 years of tractor-trailer driving experience, including winter driving and chaining where applicable
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Strong verbal communication skills
• Ability to follow instructions and navigate onboard computer technology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Working knowledge of tractor safety and control systems
• Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, vehicle inspection, and maintenance
• Meet or exceed U.S. Department of Transportation medical standards
• Pass DOT pre-employment screening, including a drug test

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and remain alert while driving for extended periods
• Ability to safely operate a tractor, including hooking/unhooking commercial vehicle combinations, manually lowering/raising landing gear, operating the fifth wheel lever, and handling safety chains
• Ability to open/close cargo doors, climb into/off vehicles, fuel vehicles, and check engine oil/coolant levels
• Frequent squatting or crouching to handle, position, and secure windows and doors
• Occasional pushing/pulling of windows and doors weighing up to 100 pounds using a dolly or cart
• Occasional carrying of windows and doors weighing up to 50 pounds (or up to 100 pounds with assistance)
• Ability to reach cargo above shoulder level, at waist level, and below waist level

Pay

Pay is based on several factors, including work experience, education, geographic location, and certifications. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $0.65 per mile, with an average annual income of $90,000.

Pay Range: $35.40 per hour (equivalent to $0.65 per mile).
