Regional Operations Supervisor
About the role
We are seeking a Regional Operations Supervisor to provide operational leadership and field support across multiple utility vegetation management contracts. This role is designed for a highly adaptable leader who can step into complex operational environments, strengthen safety performance, and drive consistency across projects. You will serve as a key operational resource for Project Managers, Area Managers, field teams, and clients—supporting day-to-day execution, mentoring team members, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contract requirements and ArborMetrics operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and support across multiple regional projects
- Serve as a flexible resource during staffing gaps and peak workloads
- Support onboarding and mobilization of new and existing contracts
- Partner with Project Managers to meet KPIs and client expectations
- Promote a strong safety culture across all work environments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in forestry, natural resources, or related field OR 2 years of direct UVM-related experience
- Strong safety, leadership, and utility operations background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of utility operations leadership experience
- Knowledge of UVM/IVM practices
- Environmental or regulatory field experience
- ISA Certification
Working Environment
Work with a team and alone; primarily in an outdoor field environment and/or low light conditions; foot patrol of energy corridors in the vicinity of power lines and/or pipelines; remote locations as well as urban, city environments. Physical demands and travel from site to site include:
- Walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, rocky, sandy, uneven, rough, unstable, steep terrain, hills, slopes, and dense vegetation
- Exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, and all types of weather extremes including snow, ice, fog, humidity, and low and high temperature conditions
- Exposure to hazardous traffic conditions, domestic and wild animals, insects, and poisonous plants
- Occasional work in a vehicle or limited time in an indoor office
Physical Demands
The employee must have sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment, including:
- Walking up to 10 miles per day, standing, sitting, and operating a motor vehicle for prolonged periods
- Frequently stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, running, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and making repetitive hand, arm, and shoulder movements (e.g., forcefully beating down brush)
- Carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light to heavy amounts of weight, frequently lifting up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lifting up to 60 lbs. (e.g., sandbags)
- Ability to verbally communicate to exchange information with the public
- Ability to see and hear in normal range with or without correction
- Operating assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, fyrake, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone
