Regional Nurse (RN) Long Term Care

General Purpose

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations and applies them to Transitions processes.
• Maintains and updates all managers with pertinent information.
• Monitors and measures activities related to Quality Assurance.
• Reviews clinical records and provides feedback to Clinical Leadership.
• Compiles, trends, and reports quality data in areas such as patient care, safety, risk management, infection control, outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
• Works collaboratively with Clinical Leadership to ensure documentation is complete and consistent with care and reflects legal requirements.
• Identifies education and training needs based on trends.
• Coordinates, educates, and implements monitoring activities for safety, risk management, and infection control.
• Develops and rolls out new Quality Assurance Programs.
• Consolidates all survey results and tracks/trends company-wide results and identifies areas for focus.
• Manages and updates all managers with pertinent information.
• Manages and reviews all medical records requests, monitors, and manages legal cases.

Requirements

• RN license in the state program is required.
• Three to five years of clinical nursing experience, with an emphasis in Post Acute/Skilled Nursing preferred.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary setting.
• Excellent understanding of performance improvement, quality assessment, and utilization management.
• Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Demonstrates excellent observation, assessment, nursing judgment, and communication skills.
• Ability to provide accurate written documentation in a timely manner.
• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
