About the role
The Special Olympics Center for Inclusive Health is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Health and Wellness Specialist. This position will support the development and implementation of health and wellness programs that promote inclusivity and improve the overall health outcomes of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and wellness programs tailored to the needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, educators, and community partners to enhance health services and resources.
- Conduct outreach and education initiatives to raise awareness about health issues affecting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Assist in the coordination of health fairs and other events aimed at promoting health and wellness.
- Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers on best practices in health and wellness programming.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, social work, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience working in health promotion or related field.
- Experience in developing and implementing health and wellness programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of health disparities and strategies to address them in populations with intellectual disabilities.
- Understanding of the unique health needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay
- $50,000 - $60,000 annually based on experience.
