About The Role

The Regional Maintenance Support Specialist supports multiple communities within the San Diego, CA region by providing advanced technical expertise, hands-on repair capability, and on-request supervisory support. This role ensures high-quality maintenance operations, strengthens team performance through training and leadership, and contributes to capital project success across the region. This role involves regular on-site visits to properties across San Diego County, so candidates should live within the region. To support travel, a monthly auto allowance is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Mentor and cross-train maintenance associates at assigned communities.
    • Provide on-request supervision, coaching, and hiring support.
    • Promote and support participation in Fairfield training programs.
  • Maintenance Operations & Repairs
    • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and more.
    • Complete preventive maintenance and common-area upkeep.
    • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies when needed.
  • Project & Vendor Support
    • Oversee on-site capex projects and vendor work quality.
    • Assist with bidding, scope development, and procurement.
    • Track project timelines to meet required milestones.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure adherence to Fairfield policies, OSHA standards, and hazardous materials requirements.
    • Conduct routine inspections of building systems and safety equipment.
  • Resident & Community Support
    • Support make-ready schedules, move-ins, and move-outs upon request.
    • Maintain communication with onsite and regional teams across multiple communities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • EPA Certification, Type II or universal required
  • CPO Certification (Pool) required
  • CAMT Certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on residential building maintenance experience
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Multifamily / Apartment maintenance experience required
  • Experience with Yardi or similar property management software

Pay

Estimated Rate of Pay: $78,120.00 - $87,360.00 annually. This position is exempt. The pay range displayed reflects base rate only and does not include allowances, perks, commissions, or bonuses applicable to this position.
