Regional Food and Safety Manager (NJ)
Responsibilities
- Provide education and training to club team members on BJ’s safety and food safety standards to comply with regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FDA & USDA).
- Follow up on all accidents real time gathering all relevant information with partnership of Investigations team to limit BJs liability.
- Collaborate with the clubs on incidents that affect safety & food safety, such as power & refrigeration outages, safety violations, etc.
- Conduct Safety & Food Safety assessments at each location in your market and work with club management on long-term solutions to remediate concerns.
- Support clubs with emergencies by being on call 24/7.
- Works with chemical and pest vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Proactively participate in training classes, partner closely with the management team for onboarding new team members and build relationships to ensure a safe shopping and working environment.
- Maintain an awareness and understanding of regulatory changes.
Requirements
- 2+ years of food quality assurance and/or safety in retail, food manufacturing, food services, or as a public health officer.
- B.S. in Occupational Health and Safety, Food Science, Human Nutrition, Microbiology, or another Biological Science degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices related to food standards, safety, and quality assurance.
- A proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detailed oriented and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to clearly communicate expectations and problem solve.
- Ability to work proactively with regulatory authorities and respond to inspections within the market.

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $103,000.00 - $131,500.00.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $103,000.00 - $131,500.00
Schedule
Travel required 70-80% with occasional overnight travel required.
