Regional Environmental Manager
About the role
We are Lennar, a leading homebuilder dedicated to making an impact and creating an extraordinary experience for our Homeowners, Communities, and Associates. The Regional Environmental Manager will oversee the implementation and management of the Lennar Environmental Management System (LEMS).
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and resources to ensure divisions within the region implement Lennar’s Environmental Management System (LEMS).
- Have working knowledge with Air Quality Regulations, NPDES General Construction Permit, and Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
- Familiarity with wetlands permitting protocols, endangered species regulations, and Phase I environmental site assessment requirements.
- Develop, coordinate, and provide LEMS training for Division Environmental Managers and division associates.
- Achieve a consistent standard of quality in meeting regulatory agency requirements for dust control and stormwater runoff.
- Interact with regulatory agencies including local authorities, municipalities, state and federal environmental protection agencies, and water quality control boards.
- Travel may be required.
- Reduce liability of regulatory notices of violation and subsequent future litigation, penalties, and fines.
- Communicate and interpret information from regulatory reports and technical data to management.
- Create a sense of pride of quality workmanship, service, and delivering the American dream of secure and quality homeownership.
Requirements
- Seven (7) years experience with soils and/or erosion control preferred.
- College degree in agriculture, civil or environmental management/engineering, geology, geography, soil science, natural resource management, or a related field is required.
- Certified as a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC); Certified Professional in Stormwater Quality (CPSWQ) or qualified to take the exam.
- Strong understanding of residential construction practices desired.
- Working knowledge of laws and regulations relating to the federal Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act, as well as air quality regulations are required.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- A high degree of accuracy required and must be detail oriented.
Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements
Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. Requires the ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment. Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
