Regional Environmental Health & Safety Manager - North Coast
About the Role
Be accountable for leading, developing, and implementing all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) procedures, programs, and training activities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government regulations and Constellation Brands (CBI) standards and expectations. Provide the site management team and hourly employees with functional guidance and technical expertise on EHS-related issues. This role is based at the Robert Mondavi Winery in Oakville, California.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee multiple wineries, vineyards, hospitality, and bottling facilities across various locations and personnel.
- Lead, develop, and implement all EHS policies, procedures, programs, and activities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and CBI standards.
- Assist supervisory and management personnel by facilitating root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action development to prevent future accidents, incidents, or releases.
- Review workplace practices to ensure EHS policies and procedures are followed by employees and enforced by management.
- Train and advise management and employees on all EHS issues to maintain a proactive approach to accident prevention.
- Assist in developing and updating safety guidelines, standard operating procedures, and best practice standards for employee and operational safety.
- Effectively communicate EHS-related issues via bulletins, newsletters, memos, and meetings.
- Support EHS Leadership and Risk Management Teams with follow-up on employee care and work restrictions related to workers' compensation matters.
- Organize required EHS training across all departments to increase awareness and adherence.
- Ensure all required EHS records, reports, and regulatory compliance submittals are prepared and maintained.
- Perform trend analysis on EHS data as required.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to provide input during planning and execution of engineering projects, maintenance work, and new technology introduction, ensuring compliance with regulatory and OSHA standards.
- Ensure the effective functioning of site Safety & Environmental Committees.
- Use leading indicators (e.g., hazard identification, near-miss reporting, behavior-based observations) to proactively identify risks and implement corrective/preventative actions.
- Develop, train, and maintain an effective Emergency Response Team for appropriate incident response.
- Plan, prepare, monitor, and administer the local safety and environmental budget, ensuring optimal resource use.
- Promote best practices for employee safety, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility in alignment with Business Unit initiatives.
- Ensure an effective EHS induction program is in place for all permanent employees and contractors.
- Ensure an effective Injury Management Program is established and maintained.
- Adhere to and administer all Company Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with EHS Management Systems.
- Working knowledge of State and Federal safety codes, environmental rules, and regulations.
- Experience with permitting and regulatory reporting (e.g., Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, CERCLA, RCRA).
- Ability to multi-task, demonstrate urgency, and execute in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders while aligning with company values.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications in EHS or related fields.
- Experience in the beverage or CPG industry (advantageous but not required).
Work Environment
- Travel required: 25%.
- Works both outdoors and indoors.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods and work on a computer for extended durations.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $117,800.00 – $184,200.00. This range reflects the lowest to highest salary the company believes it may pay for this role at the time of posting, based on cost of labor. For remote or multi-location roles, the range may vary by geographic market. An employee’s pay position within the range will be determined by factors such as relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs. Bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation remain at the company’s discretion and may be modified consistent with the law.
