Regional Environmental Health & Safety Manager - North Coast
About the role
Be accountable for leading, developing and implementing all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), procedures, programs and training activities, to ensure compliance with local, state and federal government regulations and CBI standards and expectations.
Provide the site management team and hourly employees with functional guidance, and technical expertise on EHS related issues.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee multiple wineries, vineyards, hospitality and bottling facilities with various locations and personnel.
- Lead, develop and implement all EHS policies, procedures, programs and activities, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government regulations and expectations.
- Assist supervisory and management personnel by facilitating root cause analysis, and corrective and preventative action development to prevent future accidents, incidents or releases.
- Review workplace practices to make sure EHS related policies and procedures are being followed by employees and enforced by management.
- Ensure a proactive approach to accident prevention by training, and advising management and employees on all EHS issues.
- Afford assistance in the development and updating of safety guidelines, standard operating procedures and best practice standards that are foundational for the safety of our employees and operations.
- Effectively communicate EHS related issues via bulletins, newsletters, memos and meetings.
- Afford assistance to EHS Leadership and Risk Management Teams with follow-up on employee care and work restrictions that relate to workers compensation matters.
- Organize required training in all departments to increase awareness, and adherence.
- Ensure that all required EHS records, reports and regulatory compliance submittals are prepared and maintained.
- Perform trend analysis on information as required.
- Work with the Engineering team to provide input during the planning and execution of engineering projects, maintenance work, and the introduction of new technology, ensuring change management procedures are incorporated to address related safeguards and permitting to meet applicable regulatory compliance requirements and OSHA standards.
- Ensure the effective functioning of site Safety & Environmental Committees.
- Use leading indicators such as hazard identification, near miss and behavior-based observations to proactively identify risks, develop recommendations, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Develop, train, and maintain an effective Emergency Response Team to ensure appropriate response in the event of an EHS incident.
- Plan, prepare, monitor, and administer the local safety and environmental budget and control spend to ensure the best use of resources.
- Ensure best practices for employee safety, the environment and social responsibility are routinely promoted across the site in alignment with Business Unit initiatives.
- Ensure that an effective EHS induction program is in place for all permanent employees, and contractors.
- Ensure that an effective Injury Management Program is in place.
- Adhere to, and administer all Company Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in EHS Management Systems
- Working knowledge of State and Federal safety codes, environmental rules and regulations
- Experience with permitting and providing reports to regulatory agencies (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA))
- Ability to multi-task, demonstrate a sense of urgency and ability get things done in a fast-paced environment
- Robust oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build relationships with internal and external constituencies and perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the company’s values
- Microsoft Office experience, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Certifications preferred
- Beverage or CPG Industry is advantageous, but not critical
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Travel 25%
- Work Environment: Works outdoors/indoors
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and work on a computer for extended periods
- Lifting may be required

The Salary Range For This Role Is $117,800.00 - $184,200.00
This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor.
