Regional Director Patient Financial Services
About the role
Manages and directs leadership team, ensuring they carry out assigned priorities, meet departmental objectives, and follow hospital policies and procedures.
Develops and maintains monitoring and reporting systems to ensure patient access and accounts receivable activities meet quality, productivity, and reimbursement goals.
Develops and maintains knowledge of payer billing requirements to ensure proper and timely reimbursement.
Ensures compliance with Federal, State, local, and industry regulations.
Develops and monitors departmental budget, taking necessary actions to keep expenses within budgetary constraints.
Develops plans and initiates actions to ensure compliance with organizational targets and standards.
Develops systems and processes to ensure prompt, friendly, and accurate operations.
Captures and coordinates all levels of personnel management, including recruitment, orientation, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, and terminations.
Maximizes hospital cash flow and maintains days in accounts receivable to rank with top performers in the healthcare industry.
Develops and implements quality initiatives and participates in strategic planning.

Requirements
- Excellent and effective interpersonal, verbal and writing skills
- Minimum mid-level competency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point
- Healthcare billing standards and regulations
- Ability to successfully function independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of ADT, patient accounting and electronic claims submission applications, especially Cerner applications (patient access, scheduling, patient accounting)

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Master's degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of healthcare receivables, patient access management, or related field experience (required)
- 8+ years of healthcare receivables, patient access management, or related field experience (preferred)
