Regional Director, Operations

About the role
The Regional Director of Clinical Operations directs, supervises, and coordinates staff and activities at multiple clinics to provide quality, cost-effective care. This role may also involve business development and establishing/maintaining positive working relationships with community leaders and hospital leadership.
Responsibilities
- Supervises all Operations Managers/Regional Operations Managers for assigned region and others as directed.
- Manages daily operations at assigned clinic(s) and coordinates work activities and schedules.
- Ensures provisions of safe, high-quality patient care by the staff.
- Evaluates performance and recommends candidates for hire, merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensures that office space, supplies, equipment, and assistance are provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care.
- Ensures that all business functions are operative and that all processes are effectively and efficiently in place.
- Identifies and implements process improvement changes.
- Creates goals for clinic operations and ensures these goals align with organizational goals.
- Maximizes opportunities to manage operating costs.
- Works closely with Providers and MD Partners to ensure all clinic and company goals are met.
- Contributes to the writing and revision of company policies, procedures, job descriptions, and competencies.
- Maintains an active and/or leadership role in company projects and initiatives, ensuring implementation and integration in clinics.
- Oversees Regional Safety and Compliance for all governing agents in collaboration with other Managers and Directors (e.g., OSHA, QOPI, PQRS, Meaningful Use).
- Creates and maintains an environment of trust, integrity, open communication, teamwork, and respect.
- Works collaboratively with vendors, contractors, building maintenance, and others interacting with regional clinics.
- Oversees payroll for direct reports and Performance Excellence Plans.
- Mentors, coaches, and develops direct reports.
- Brainstorms action planning to improve Employee Engagement Survey scores.
- Reviews and analyzes patient satisfaction with clinic managers, developing action plans for improvement.
- Builds strong relationships with Providers using diplomacy and tact in team building.
- Regularly rounds in clinics to ensure high visibility, develop trusting relationships with staff, and validate that changes and initiatives are fully ingrained.
- Collaborates with department directors/leaders to achieve operational, project, and outcome goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of Oncology office management experience preferred, including at least 2 years in a clinic setting.
- Experience managing multiple locations strongly preferred.
