Regional Director of Pharmacy - Georgia

About the role

As the Regional Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee all OTP facility pharmacies, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires a high level of responsibility, expertise, and a willingness to assist and manage all site pharmacists while providing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the pharmacy program, direct, review, maintain, and rectify pharmacy operating procedures, including safety and security processes.
• Maintain complete and accurate records and complete pharmacy variances as needed.
• Monitor, control, and maintain inventory of medications and supplies.
• Ensure the safe and efficient distribution, control, and accountability for all medication.
• Reconcile medication inventory monthly and maintain reconciliation reports.
• Prepare all take-home medication, verifying doses, pre-pouring, labeling, and signing off for distribution.
• Secure opioid medication by restricting access to medication areas.
• Ensure all medication is properly stored, secure, and within date.
• Ensure medication is administered and dispensed based on physician orders in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Oversee accurate completion and filing of DEA 222 forms (CSOS and paper forms) and packing slips.
• Ensure biennial and monthly inventories are performed accurately and timely by the PIC as required by the DEA and Georgia Board of Pharmacy.
• Ensure initial inventories are performed accurately during OTP acquisition or De Novo.
• Provide direction and supervision to pharmacy personnel, including some overnight travel.
• Train support teammates in opioid treatment program clinic pharmacy matters.
• Maintain compliance with PTC policies, DEA, State regulatory bodies, and Board of Pharmacy guidelines.
• Oversee quality assurance of pharmacies, including monthly review of incident reports.
• Ensure pump maintenance and accuracy checks are performed as required at all sites.
• Attend ongoing training per program, federal, and state requirements.
• Assist in hiring pharmacists for GA OTP clinics.
• Complete quarterly reviews of each GA OTP pharmacy.
• Train new pharmacists for GA OTP clinics.
• Ensure renewal of all pharmacist and pharmacy technician licenses.
• Supervise and oversee pharmacists and pharmacy technicians for GA OTP clinics.
• Provide coverage for GA pharmacists as needed.
• Attend Board of Pharmacy and DEA inspections when possible.
• Assist the Corporate Pharmacist with audit reviews.
• Provide training to the team as needed.
• Assist with policy review.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current Pharmacist license in Georgia.
• Experience as a PIC (Pharmacist in Charge) in Georgia.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to travel up to 50% as needed, including overnight stays.
