Regional Director of Operations
About the Role
The Regional Director of Operations has overall responsibility for profit, loss, sales, and operations within their region. This role coordinates the activities of sales, operations, and administrative staff through Branch Managers, ensuring training, sales, gross margin, budget adherence, human resources, operations, delivery, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Branch Managers recruit, hire, train, manage, supervise, promote, discipline, and discharge project-related leadership as necessary.
- Manage and escalate human resource issues per Company policies and procedures.
- Review Branch Managers’ recommendations for project-related management’s performance ratings, promotions, and pay changes.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to meet customer and Company goals and objectives.
- Complete Branch Managers’ annual performance reviews.
- Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting as required.
- Attend weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings as required.
- Develop opportunities and monitor sales quota achievement.
- Lead and manage delivery, operations, customer satisfaction, and administrative operations of the region in concert with management.
- Coordinate customer account activities when they extend beyond regional territory.
- Manage workload distribution and monitor customer delivery and job installation progress.
- Participate in and/or facilitate the bid process.
- Act as the Company liaison for customer interactions.
- Create, develop, and implement regional process improvements.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be self-motivated, positive, professional, and capable of leading others in process improvement initiatives.
- Must promote the Company culture and mission to employees, vendors, clients, and business partners.
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to effectively read, write, and deliver oral presentations.
- High skill level in interpreting blueprints and project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to learn Company and customer project management systems.
- Ability to successfully secure and maintain a Company-sponsored American Express Card.
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- RCDD certification preferred.
- Experience in customer interface, acting as a liaison between the customer and the Company.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical/construction field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Ability to supervise multiple Branch Managers and other personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to define a project, create a scope of work, develop detailed tasks, and manage them to completion and customer turnover.
