About the role
The Regional Director of Nursing and Midwifery will lead the nursing and midwifery services across the HSE Mid West Health Region. This role will be responsible for ensuring high-quality care delivery, managing staff, and implementing policies that enhance patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and evaluation of nursing and midwifery standards and protocols
- Manage nursing and midwifery staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and satisfaction
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless service delivery
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Midwifery
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within nursing or midwifery
- Proven track record in improving patient outcomes and service quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with appropriate registration from the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland
- Experience in strategic planning and policy development
- Knowledge of health policy and legislation relevant to nursing and midwifery
Skills

Pay
The salary for this position is negotiable based on experience and qualifications, but falls within the range of €50,000 - €70,000 per annum.
