Academic Req: Required – Master’s degree in public health with an emphasis in epidemiology, health policy, health promotion, or a related field
Certifications: First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention

Responsibilities

  • Meet and maintain all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards applicable to this position.
  • Work with Compass Connections program management teams to develop preparedness guidance as it relates to each program.
  • Provide public health guidance and support to divisional programs as needed.
  • Submit routine reports on the status of national, state and Compass Connections program public heath trending.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments at all Compass Connections sites on a quarterly basis (and as needed) and provide the findings and recommendations to chain of command.
  • Aid in training Compass Connections staff on contact tracing, outbreak detection and mitigation, donning and doffing, identification of PPE breaches, and cleaning and disinfection at all program sites.
  • Maintain confidentiality of health care records and information in keeping with HIPAA and Compass Connections confidentiality and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) protocol and procedures.
  • Identify training needs and organize training interventions to quality standards.
  • Travel for training, in-services, or corporate conferences/meetings.
  • Address other job duties as assigned or for unforeseen matters that require attention to maintain a fluid and fully functional program.
  • Maintain a public health surveillance program for all Compass Connections sites and conduct contact tracing when needed.
  • Develop and deliver public health educational training programs to clients and staff.
  • Conduct epidemiological investigations of communicable and/or high-consequence disease outbreaks, parasites, chronic illness conditions, disease risk factors, or other adverse health outcomes.
  • Propose corrective action or interventions to prevent or mitigate public health issues based on epidemiological findings.
  • Evaluate and revise quality assurance standards and ensure implementation and ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records, databases, and other critical information systems.
  • Interface with Public Health Departments and federal partners.
  • Conduct routine site assessments to identify and mitigate public health gaps.
  • Provide timely updates and recommendations to program and Compass Connections leadership regarding public health issues at Compass Connections sites.
  • Conduct the reporting of notifiable conditions from Compass Connections sites to the respective local health department.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of scientific literature regarding public health and infection control.

Requirements

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to: Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
    Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English.
    Work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions based on the needs of the program and service population, while maintaining emotional control and professional composure at all times.
    Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
    Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
    Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
  • Must provide current physical-medical release and provide proof of immunizations, titers, or declinations for the following: MMR Varicella HepB HepA Tetanus PPD Meningococcal (preferred).
  • Must be able to perform physical activity such as extensive walking, stretching, and bending.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to maintain professional people skills, including oral, written, listening, and non-verbal communication skills English (United States)
