About the Role

Grow the business and profitability through solid operational execution of company programs. Plan for growth through hiring, training, and development of District Managers in both operations and merchandising. Enforce Dollar Tree’s policies, procedures, and standards. Communicate with Directors and Vice Presidents on opportunities in the field that would facilitate growth with continued success for a profitable company. Full P&L responsibility for the region and all stores within.

Ensure that each District Manager is utilizing company reports to identify and support any outliers in the business. Ensure a successful shrink culture exists to identify loss and raise shrink awareness. Responsible for all aspects of inventory integrity throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise all District Managers within the assigned region.
  • Validate District Managers’ weekly plans to meet business needs, providing guidance and follow-up via regular communication.
  • Ensure the region maintains high standards of merchandise placement, store signage, inventory mix, and proper display techniques to create an inviting shopping environment, according to company and zone directives.
  • Lead and develop strong financial acumen within the team through regular business reviews and expense containment.
  • Follow up on all communication (voicemail, email, and paper mail) in a timely manner with the Store Support Center and field team.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service for both internal and external customers through personal interaction with District Managers, Store Managers, Store Associates, and customers.
  • Partner with the Zone Vice President and Zone Operations Director on merchandising guidelines, District Manager training, and other merchandising opportunities to maximize sales.
  • Communicate and partner with the Zone Vice President and Field Human Resources regarding training, recruitment needs, disciplinary/counseling, and other HR-related issues.
  • Recruit and network through company programs to ensure the region is properly staffed at all levels.
  • Communicate with the assigned Real Estate Representative regarding opportunities for new and expanded store locations.
  • Strategically plan for regional growth, including people development, store alignments, and regional staffing needs.
  • Work with Asset Protection and Risk Management teams on loss prevention and compliance issues.
  • Ensure District Managers train new Store Managers and that MST stores meet brand standards and are operationally sound.
  • Follow up on new store staffing and training processes with the Regional Team via People Planner calls with District Managers and HR support.
  • Facilitate new Store Manager, HI PO Store Manager, and town hall sessions as business dictates.
  • Navigate technology such as Microsoft Excel, electronic calendars, and other company programs.

Requirements

  • Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in multi-unit management in a high-volume, high-velocity environment.
  • Proven ability to drive profitable sales growth.
  • Discount retail experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.

Full-time position based in Dennisport, Massachusetts.
