Regional Catastrophe Adjuster (Resident)
Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. This range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.
About the role
This is a work-from-home position serving Oklahoma and other states within the region, including Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado. Some travel will be required to assist in the regional area as needed. Home office equipment and a company vehicle are provided.
Due to the duties and responsibilities of this position, a Credit Bureau Report, Motor Vehicle Report, and Criminal Background Check may be ordered on final candidates.
Responsibilities
- Handles insurance claims for property damage within an assigned region, traveling to other locations as needed.
- Investigates, analyzes, evaluates, and settles catastrophe claims, especially those involving wind or hail.
- Determines claim value, negotiates settlements, and ensures accurate claim handling.
Requirements
- Investigative, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to learn through on-the-job training and training courses.
- Superior skills in negotiation, customer service, written, and verbal communication.
- Ability to travel long distances and overnight when needed and lift/move/climb ladders for inspection in all temperatures.
- Strong skills in technology and efficient time management to maintain schedules and deadlines.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving history.
- High-speed internet access to support systems from residence.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Pay
$23.82–$33.38 minimum starting pay.
