About the role
The Regional Admissions Counselor serves as the primary representative of East Carolina University within the assigned Raleigh–Durham–Chapel Hill territory. This position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract, engage, and enroll prospective undergraduate students, including freshmen and transfer populations. This position builds and maintains relationships with key stakeholders and provides guidance to prospective students and families throughout the admissions process.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment strategy to attract, engage, and enroll prospective undergraduate students, including freshmen and transfer populations.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including high schools, community colleges, and other educational institutions.
- Provide guidance to prospective students and families throughout the admissions process, including counseling and advising on financial aid options.
- Conduct outreach activities such as college fairs, open houses, and virtual events to promote East Carolina University.
- Collaborate with colleagues in admissions, financial aid, and marketing to ensure a cohesive and effective recruitment strategy.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience in higher education, preferably in admissions or student recruitment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
Qualifications
- Experience in higher education, preferably in admissions or student recruitment.
- Knowledge of college admission processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of financial aid policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
