About the role
We are looking for an experienced Regional Accountant to support financial operations for our Dallas, Texas region. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, guiding close activities, and partnering with operational teams to uphold strong financial controls.
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly close activities for the assigned region, including preparing journal entries, reviewing balances, and completing account reconciliations on schedule.
- Provide day-to-day accounting and financial support to regional operations, addressing issues that arise during and outside the regular close cycle.
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy and consistency, resolving discrepancies and helping maintain reliable financial reporting.
- Work closely with branch teams on audit-related matters, regional compliance efforts, and other finance coordination activities.
- Handle confidential financial information with a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and discretion.
- Monitor financial processes for timeliness and quality, identify potential problems, and implement practical corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain purchase card documentation and tracking records to support approvals, audits, and policy compliance.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure transactions are properly recorded and outstanding items are promptly investigated.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, including significant responsibility for month-end close and general ledger activities.
- Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, with preference for experience using Great Plains.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with operational and finance teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in financial work.
